Annie Ballen, MD

Dr. Ballen is a board-certified psychiatrist who completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at Tulane University. She has taught and mentored students in a variety of settings, including supervising medical students during their psychiatry rotations. During residency, she participated in the residency selection process, interviewing applicants, providing applicant feedback, and taking part in rank discussions.

Her clinical work providing psychotherapy deepened her interest in how individuals make sense of their experiences and put them into words. Drawing on this perspective in advising, she enjoys being able to help applicants reflect on the experiences that have shaped their path, make decisions aligned with their goals, and communicate their story effectively in their applications and interviews.
