Cassandra Crawford Ciglar, EdD, RDN/LD

Dr. Crawford Ciglar (known to her students as Dr. C) earned a doctoral degree in educational leadership with emphasis in organizational change theories. She has over ten years’ experience working in higher education as a pre-health advisor, career coach, and college faculty, while also serving in multiple administrative roles including program director, department chair, and executive director.

Prior to moving to higher education, Dr. C had over two decades of professional experience working in healthcare, first as a microbiologist, then spending five years specializing as a technologist in an in-vitro fertilization lab. After earning an MA in Dietetics, Dr. C worked both as a clinical dietitian and as adjunct faculty at a local community college.

She then accepted her first full-time position in higher education at Northeastern State University, where Dr. C progressed from Program Director and faculty to the first-ever Executive Director of the Office of Pre-Health Professions and Advising. In her time at NSU, she served as faculty mentor and academic advisor for all students in Pre-health Professions, Dietetics, and Allied Health. Her most recent position is as the Health Sciences and Pre-Health Professions Career Coach at The University of Tulsa.

Dr. C has extensive experience advising applicants on admission to medical school and PA programs, as well as dental, veterinary, and other health professions programs. The best part of her job, other than receiving the phone call or email when her client has been accepted into their dream school, is the relationship that is formed with the clients and kept well beyond the end of the advising session.
